Rok szkolny już się rozpoczął, ale zapewne wielu z Was ma trudności z powrotem do szkolnej rzeczywistości. Wszyscy mamy żywe wspomnienia z wypoczynku zarówno w naszym kraju jak i w różnych częściach świata. Niektórzy z Was na pewno odwiedzili piękną, słoneczną Hiszpanię. W numerze z lutego 2021 WiŻ możecie się dowiedzieć co oznacza i skąd pochodzi nazwa tego kraju. Pewnie nikt by się nie spodziewał, że nazwę tę nadali temu krajowi Fenicjanie i oznacza ziemię góralków, niewielkich ssaków kopytnych, które dzisiaj zamieszkują Afrykę i Bliski Wschód. Fenicjanie, którzy docierali z terytorium dzisiejszego Libanu do Europy Południowej, gdzie prowadzili wymianę handlową, zauważyli na tych terenach zwierzęta przypominające dobrze im znane góralki, które nazywali szafanami. Jednak te pospolicie biegające ssaki były dzikimi królikami, których Fenicjanie nie znali. Fenickie słowo szafan oznaczające góralki, zostało przetłumaczone przez podbijających Europę Rzymian na łaciński odpowiednik Hispania. Na bazie rzymskiego słowa powstała potem nazwa Spain, po hiszpańsku – Espaňa i po polsku – Hiszpania.
